Good toy for the price! I purchased this raccoon for my three Pekingese boys to play with and they love it. Sure it is not the most durable of toys but they have loved carrying it around and sleeping with it and ripping it up. It is cheap enough that I don't mind buying them again and I throw it in the washing machine when the boys drag it outside and try to bring it back in again. Also I love the fact that it is stuffing free because all of the stuffed toys that I buy end up stuffing free anyway but this way the boys don't shred the toy and throw the stuffing all over the place.
Cheap product! For the price this is not worth the money.
Crazy Critters big ripoff Our dog distroyed the crazy critter is less than two minutes. First the soft plastic legs were crewed off. Then the fabric was shredded. True no stuffing but no quality either. Advertised as durable but it certainly is not. We feel we were ripped off.
excellent no stuffing dog toy My Poodle mix loves this toy and even though it's larger than normal for her she carries it around easily. Very durable and washable. Excellent dog toy and worth the money.
Ingestion of Dog Toys e.g. Crazy Critters I am very sorry that some people have had the experience of their dogs eating this toy or other items. However in most instances the dog owner is at fault rather than the toy. I too have had more than one of my dogs eat toys a nylon collar a sock a drawstring a scrunchie and a nylon knee high. It is horrible to deal with emotionally and medically when this happens but as owners it is our responsibility to keep our pets from having opportunities to ingest things they should not ingest. There are very few toys with which dogs can be left alone possibly Kongs and Nylabones and like toys. Most toys clearly say that pets should be supervised at all times when using the toy. Dogs are indiscriminant eaters and will eat nonfood items. Dogs and cats should never be left alone with any plush toy stuffed or unstuffed or any toy with a squeaker!!!!!!!! Cloth rubber nylon plastic etc.
my terrier mix that likes to chew He loves this thing. Now he bites the tail off pretty quick but since the toy has no stuffing I can leave him with the other part of the body. The toy only last about a month since he likes to destroy it but the month is about 28 days longer than any other stuff toy I have bought him. He drags the thing everywhere with him including when he is going to sleep he lays his head on it like a little pillow. $10 a month for me isn't a big deal since I know he is going to love it that it's going to last the month and that I don't need to freak out about him swallowing stuffing.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IT CAN POTENTIALLY KILL YOUR DOG DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. A large dog can actually chew and swallow this product whole. Whatever this is made of does not break down in the stomach and will result in an obstruction that is undetectable unless a barium xray is performed. We had purchased two of them and when one turned up missing we assumed that our dogs had tore it into pieces. Instead our 13year old dog ate the thing whole. Two months ago she became very listless. We assumed it was because my husband was on vacation. I took her to the vet and he palpated her stomach to check for an obstruction and didn't feel anything. We put her on pain meds for arthritis which seemed to perk her up. About 1.5 months later she started eating less and less and was having accidents in the house and vomiting and gagging. We took her back to the vet and he checked her again and she still did not present as a dog with an obstruction. The assumption was that the nsaids had irritated her stomach. She was put on pain meds and medication to heal her stomach. 1.5 days later she was still not better so we took her to the emergency room. They did xrays blood work and an ultrasound and found NOTHING! They added an additional medication for her stomach because they were able to get her to eat a little food after she had been on IV fluids and brought her home. 2 days later she was still getting worse so my vet gave her barium and we took her back the next morning for more xrays. He said it looks like she ate a tube sock. As soon as he said that I knew EXACTLY what was wrong. They performed emergency surgery because this indestructible toy was stuck in her stomach duodenum and small intestine. She had over 200 internal sutures and a 15inch incision because of every where that she had to be cut in order to remove this killer toy. Our dog has eaten other toys that she has ripped the stuffing out of and passed them with no problem but whatever this piece of crap is made of does not break down even in the hydrochloric acid that is in the stomach and gets trapped in their digestive system and will kill your pet if the problem is undetected. Your dog will NOT present like they have a typical obstruction. We are not out of the woods with our dog and are not sure if she will survive this. She has survived the operation and having that piece of crap in her system for two months but we are unsure if her system will recover. If she recovers it will be nothing short of a miracle but this toy needs to be taken OFF the market immediately. I plan on contacting the local news media as soon as we know one way or the other whether our beloved pet will survive.
My boston terrier destroyed this My 4 y.o. Boston Terrier loves her toys loves to destroy them. So far she's kept one toy intact for more than a few days. This one has became a casualty as well. Not worth the price in my opinion. She first got the squeaker out of the tail the ripped the raccoon's face open to get the other squeaker out. She has continued to chew off pieces of the face and has lost all interest in it. Back to my search for a toy to keep her entertained for more than a few minutes.
If you have a dog that makes quick work of a stuffie you just might want to consider a Crazy Critter In my house anything left around when Brandy was young was soon a tattered mess. It was a while before she refrained from chewing up things like leather Birkenstocks and sneakers but stuffed animals have and always will be her cup of tea. First she'd rip the eyes out and then not long after that she'd tear the stuffie from limb to limb yanking out the stuffing. Probably more than one disgruntled dog owner has come home to find their couch cushions in tatters but had they introduced a Crazy Critter early on that scenario just possibly could have been avoided.This raccoon Crazy Critter is flat made of strong plush fur and has squeakers at the head and tail. Needless to say with a dog like Brandy there is no longer a tail it was 22 long. BUT there is no fuzzy stuff spread from one end of the house to the other either. The raccoon is washable but dogs seem to like smelly things and I don't bother with the handwash. It is however a plus for people who like clean doggie toys. The squeakers are a doggie turnon and combined with the plush fur the raccoon satisfies Brandy's instinctive nature to attack.Of course not all people will be happy when a tail is ripped off but Brandy has had hours of enjoyment with her toy and I haven't had to deal with fuzzy stuff all over the place nor had to sweep up all those beads when she's snatched a Beanie Baby. If you have a dog that has jaws that won't quit you may not want to purchase a Critter if you suspect you'll have a few fabric pieces within an hour.
